But after a decade, he expressed his satisfaction, saying, “The promise of prosperity has been kept.†He credited the Chinese, particularly the Wenzhou people, for bringing new life to the brand.
As the current head of “Connaught,†Mr. Wang emphasized that the brand is different from others. It still upholds traditional manual craftsmanship, a hallmark of its past when it served aristocrats and celebrities. Under Alfonso’s leadership, the brand focused on quality rather than rapid expansion. Since taking over, Mr. Wang believes that growth requires reaching a broader audience while preserving quality. Today, “Connaught†has stores across Europe, Asia, and even in Beijing. Though its products are expensive, they remain highly sought after by discerning customers.
Under the management of the Wenzhou people, “Connaught†has found a unique balance between tradition and innovation. The brand still follows ancient Italian techniques, with every stitch and material carefully selected.
