At the World Expo, FLYCOOL fiber embedded in T-shirt fabric, which can maintain an average temperature of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius lower than regular fabrics, has become a classic masterpiece in the spinning and weaving industry. According to Hu Yongqin, the manager of the company, this product is expected to lead the market in the next 3 to 5 years, and the market is heating up quickly. He mentioned that this is the second time their company has participated in the Fibers Industrial Fair, and last time, even though they were among the last exhibitors, they received a large amount of positive feedback from customers.
In particular, after the release of the FLYCOOL & SORONA (eco-friendly and energy-saving) product at the previous exhibition, numerous brand-name companies showed interest in collaboration. Additionally, the adoption of FLYCOOL fabric by the Expo organizers for volunteers’ uniforms presents a significant business opportunity. However, both Hu Yongqin’s company and Gage are licensed to produce World Expo merchandise. As part of the official Taiwan delegation, the company will announce its spinning and weaving cooperation with finished products from the Expo, offering solutions for energy-efficient and environmentally friendly garments over the next few years.
The spin-off project will include the FLYCOOL NITI (product promotion program) and the previously successful FLYCOOL & SORONA joint initiative. The main feature of the project is energy saving combined with environmental protection, integrating functions that fully meet the requirements of green fiber fabrics. It also includes a comprehensive evaluation of the feasibility of future carbon economy programs in the textile industry.
Hu Yongqin is confident about the future market potential of FLYCOOL & SORONA. “Not long ago, state leaders announced in Copenhagen that China aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 40% to 45% by 2020 compared to 2005 levels. Especially, it was emphasized that air conditioning temperatures indoors should not be set below 26 degrees Celsius. Energy saving and carbon reduction are no longer just slogans in China but have become clear national policies. FLYCOOL fabrics have obvious advantages in this area, so I believe that in this low-carbon trend, we will definitely seize the opportunities and play a leading role.â€
He added that each year, the company uses public platforms to introduce new concepts. These concepts not only guide the development of the industry but also serve as realistic market strategies tested over time. At this exhibition, he will present the concept of green fiber on behalf of the company. This concept replaces the old idea of using recycled PET bottles to make yarn. Instead, it focuses on cooling garments (saving energy), reducing or eliminating petroleum use (environmental protection), and ensuring self-decomposition when disposed of.
This advanced textile concept will be developed jointly by mainland China and Taiwan, aiming to create world-leading standards for energy-saving and eco-friendly textiles. In Hu Yongqin's view, these initiatives not only meet the growing global demand for sustainable textiles but also open up new business opportunities for the international green textile market.
