Hello again! Today, I’m thrilled to share with you our second new design for Fall 2023—the Amarena Dress. It's also available in a digital format, making it super convenient for those who prefer working from their devices. ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/c718565aa6e83fffb4032afcccc86333.jpg) If you’re familiar with our Gelato Dress, you’ll recognize its popularity. It’s a pull-on dress with no zippers or buttons, featuring a gentle A-line silhouette. The Amarena Dress takes inspiration from that design but adds its own unique twist. It strikes a balance between being neither too flared nor too straight. The shoulders are fitted, giving it a sleek and elegant look, while still offering enough room in the body to ensure comfort and ease of movement. Think of it as secret pajamas with style! In case you loved the Gelato Dress, I think you'll absolutely adore the Amarena Dress. The Amarena Dress offers two distinct views, allowing you to customize according to your preference: **View A** features a flattering shawl collar, shaped welt front pockets for a touch of flair, and cuffed short sleeves. Honestly, I have a soft spot for the sleeves, though the collar runs a close second. ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/180729e5234cf40fb11fbdf76dcf2cd3.jpg) ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/b061d59036d1c148b4bb4e896163084f.jpg) ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/2890787f6ab45d831724a7f3b6a9be1a.jpg) ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/47053fa375976d218837a158ea591240.jpg) On the other hand, **View B** gives you the option of a V-neck, eliminating the collar for a simpler, more straightforward look. It also has easier-to-sew curved side pockets and three-quarter sleeves—perfect if you're new to sewing or looking for something less complex. ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/98d2490242e4be9bb80d111f43f53c39.jpg) ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/8d9d769188df155a2666e31490077370.jpg) ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/5996a60dc324bb263b8c83a8eef5f656.jpg) ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/11c6f6490835a8889333c3bb45601800.jpg) ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/e0340cd5a2bb19c01d9725f8e987c097.jpg) Of course, you can combine elements from both views to create a truly personalized dress. Mix and match to your heart's content—or even make multiple versions with different combinations of features. I’ve also included a cutting line for a top, should you wish to experiment with that alternative. Just remember to remove the pockets if you go that route. We’ve made sure to include cup sizes to help you achieve the perfect fit, whether you're an A/B, C, or D cup. No additional adjustments needed—you’re all set for a great fit right out of the box. This style works beautifully in both lightweight and medium-weight fabrics. For View A, I used a slubby yellow cotton viscose that I absolutely adore. View B, on the other hand, is made from an ikat fabric handwoven in Mallorca, Spain. The viscose feels akin to silk shantung, which would be stunning for a more formal occasion. The ikat, however, is stiffer and heavier, making it ideal for fabrics with a bit of structure and drape. This dress also pairs well with larger prints, so don’t shy away from exploring the home decor section at your local fabric store if you're feeling adventurous (that’s where I sourced my ikat). Look for fabrics like linen, lightweight denim, cotton twill, sateen, chambray, and rayon. Silk and silk-cotton blends would also be breathtaking. I’d love to make one in rayon twill if I can find the right material. I’ll delve deeper into fabric options and styling tips in my next post, but for now, you can grab your copy of the Amarena Dress in either paper or digital form. Be sure to tag us using #lieslcoamarenadress and #lieslandco so we can see what you create. After all, I can’t wait to see how you bring this pattern to life! ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/c718565aa6e83fffb4032afcccc86333.jpg) In the meantime, happy sewing!
